Yakuza Promos in Tokyo Raiders

yakuza-giveaways.jpg I was reading a rather dry press release about how "The successful and measurable Japanese marketing tactic of promoting products and services through the distribution of pocket tissue packs carrying ad messages to consumers has made its way to the United States," which reminded me about Tokyo Raiders. Specifically, the part when the good guys get ambushed by the Yakuza in a park and ask how the gangsters knew where to find them. One of the Yakuza replies, "You took the tissues. We run all the giveaways on this street!" I always had a feeling organized crime was running the free tissue racket in Tokyo.
