December 26, 2006Promo Review 2006: Valleyschwag
As the year winds to a close, I'd like to remember some of the top promotional stories of 2006, one of which was definitely Valleyschwag, a company that took free stuff and found a way to sell it to people. With hip Web 2.0 companies using promos to brand build offline, Valleyschwag tapped into the zeigeist and turned it into a brand new business model. Incidentally, the business model started as a subscription model and only lasted four issues. I look forward to seeing where they take it in 2007.
