Wiichain Big Hit at Game Developer's Conference

A custom promotional keychain shaped like Nintendo's wildly popular Wii game controller was a huge hit at this year's Game Developer's Conference. The keychain was given out at Nintendo's career both to attract potential employees from the talented developers attending the conference. I think this conference giveaway is a great example of a few promotional strategies. First, it is a unique product that leverages the most important part of their latest console. Second, it's a great example of an effective employee recruitment promo. Third, it's extremely well matched for the target audience (gaming nerds, a term I use with much respect). The result? It was, according to one attendee "the most sought after schwag of GDC07" and definitely drove a lot of traffic to their booth.
