The Return of 3D
3D is back, and so are 3D glasses. In its latest incarnation, the 3D effect is achieved using polarized glasses, rather than the old-school red and blue glasses. The new glasses are plastic, rather than paper, and done in more of a Buddy Holly style. With a long list of upcoming 3D movie releases, 2008 will be the year to see if the technology really takes off. 3D does seem to be getting a strong start, with a significant percentage of Beowulf ticket sales coming from 3D screenings.
