July 30, 2009Microsoft and Yahoo Sign Deal...
...with an oversize novelty promotional pen! After a couple years of back and forth, Microsoft and Yahoo! have finally come to an agreement to join forces in online search. I think the pen itself speaks to the size of the deal and seeing Steve Ballmer use it signifies his respect for the unique, quirky corporate culture at Yahoo! Of course the bigger question is whether the deal will work. My favorite comment on the deal: "Sure, these guys came in second and third place in the race. But what if we tied their legs together and combined their powers?"
