Growing a Client Base with Direct Mail

Here's a great promo from a group of landscape architects. It's basically a chia-card, or direct mail promo meets promotional plant. The unassuming card showing an architectural plan actually sprouts little "trees" if it is watered. One of the things I like most about this piece is that it turns something that is two-dimensional (and direct mail generally is) and turns it into something 3D, no glasses required. This ties in nicely with the fact that they are an architectural firm, too. If the company is known for environmentally-friendly landscape architecture, that makes the promo even better. I'm not sure, though since it seems to be in German and they are actually doing Landschaftsarchitektur. (via adverbox)

Promos from Around the World: Japan's Coffee Jockey

Someone was luckier than I was last time I tried to buy a coffee from a vending machine in Japan to get a promotional product. In this case, the promo, attached to the coffee in a special compartment in the lid, is a figurine of a famous japanese jockey. I'm guessing it may be Yutaka Take, who seems to be the most famous jockey in Japan right now. Amongst other accomplishments, he apparently won the Japanese Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing last year. If this figurine is anatomically correct, it seems to indicate that while he may have the small frame typical of most successful horse jockeys, his head is surprisingly large.coffee-jockey.jpg

With so many ways to share information and photos online, you can have your fans/users/customers send in photos of themselves wearing your promotional gear.
