To promote its new Intense Hydration line of skin care products, the company crafted an interactive billboard made of promotional sticky notes featuring a $3-off coupon. The billboard, stationed along a bustling street in Minneapolis, initially showed a woman with dry skin made up of thousands of the promotional sticky notes. The text reads: “Does your skin feel dry and flaky?”
As people passed by and grabbed the sticky-note coupons, an image of the same model with a much softer, more hydrated appearance was revealed. The new message: “Introducing Intense Hydration. The natural solution for dry skin.”
What a clever way to simulate a before and after, and provide consumers with an incentive to try the product. Burt’s Bees did an amazing job engaging the public with its offer. It no doubt got people talking about the brand—and it all started with the humble promotional sticky note.
