Custom Pens Can Help Commemorate Special Events

SFA

ePromos was pleased to sponsor the United States Army Special Forces Association’s 2012 Convention.

custom pens

Here at ePromos, we love it when custom pens go to work for good causes. That’s why we were happy to donate custom pens for the United States Army Special Forces Association (SFA) Convention earlier this summer.

The SFA celebrated its 60th anniversary with five days of special tributes and events in Fayetteville, North Carolina. We were honored to be a sponsor and provide custom pens to commemorate the big celebration.

Do you have a special event on the horizon? We’d love to help you select some executive pens for the big occasion. Promotional pens are useful, popular and they get passed along, getting your company name and logo some valuable exposure.

Promo know-how tip: Custom pens aren’t just for inexpensive giveaways—they’re also perfectly gift-worthy. Add a custom gift box to elevate the presentation.

ePromos Donates Custom Yoga Mats For Downtown Walk About

Last week, some of ePromos’ Minnesota staffers showed up in downtown St. Cloud wielding custom yoga mats—and lots of them. It was all part of our sponsorship of a downtown walk about to promote healthy living.

The event, essentially an open-air festival, was smack in the middle of downtown St. Cloud. This “urban playground” included more than 30 activities ranging from hula-hooping to CrossFit as a way to educate residents about healthful lifestyles.

ePromos brought some healthy motivation with a donation of 75 custom yoga mats. Seven were used as door prizes, and the St. Cloud Downtown Council, the event’s organizer, used the rest as sponsor promotional gifts.

Recipients can use these custom yoga mats for exercise or to zen out, which makes them the perfect promotional giveaway at a walk about.

Promo know-how tip: Walk abouts are the hot new trend. If your business participates in one, be sure to have promotional products to promote your brand and amuse or educate attendees. Since walk abouts take place outdoors, consider promotional items such as custom sunglasses or custom flyers.

ePromos Toasts Humane Society With Custom Wine Glasses

Between five and seven million companion animals enter animal shelters every year, according to the ASPCA, and three to four million are euthanized. ePromos wanted to help, so we took action with what we do best: promotional products.

When the Tri-County Humane Society (TCHS) near our headquarters in St. Cloud, Minnesota, hosted its 11th annual Wine, Kibbles and Bids event, we jumped at the chance to sponsor this fund-raising event.

It just made sense, according to Cydney Reuter, a sales manager for ePromos who also happens to be the 2012 board president for TCHS.

“ePromos wants to have a positive presence in the community, and since ePromos is a pet-friendly environment, it seemed like a perfect pairing,” she says. “I wanted to help TCHS gain brand awareness, and I thought that take-away wine glasses would be a great memento of a wonderful evening with wine-tasting as the focus.”

As guests were ushered into the beautiful Gorecki Center at the College of St. Benedict, they received custom wine glasses to use throughout the night for various wine tastings and also at the open bar.

“I had the privilege of handing out the glasses at the beginning of the evening,” Reuter says. “So many people were delighted to receive the glasses as a gift.”

ePromos’ marketing coordinator, Libby Defries, also attended the event, and noted that the custom wine glasses were well-received by attendees. “It seemed everyone in the room had one,” she says.

The custom wine glasses were useful as guests sampled various wines, mingled and explored different items in the silent auction. Wine accessories are always a great promo idea. And because the custom wine glasses featured the logo for the Tri-County Humane Society, they made lovely reminders of the event that guests can use at their own dinners and gatherings.

“The staff at TCHS did such a lovely job with the event,” Reuter says, “and I have to think that the beautiful display of sparkling wine glasses as people walked into the event helped make it successful.”

Promo know-how tip: Promotional products are a great way to enhance your audience’s experience at charitable events. Just consider the activities at the event, and choose custom products accordingly. The promotional products should have a clear tie-in to the cause or the event. We can help you pinpoint the perfect way to spread your message with promotional products.

DDB Teams Up With ePromos To Raise Awareness On World Water Day

When it comes to clean drinking water, we have it pretty good here in the U.S. It’s a totally different story, however, in developing countries, where safe drinking water can be hard to find. While we don’t have to second guess the quality of our tap water, there are 884 million people around the world don’t even have access to clean water, and 3.6 million die each year from water-borne illnesses.

World Water Day, a good time to take advantage of promotional water bottles, is an annual event that aims to raise awareness about this important human rights issue. This year, ad agency DDB NY teamed up with waterislife.com and ePromos to come up with an engaging guerrilla marketing campaign that would spread the word in NYC, home to some of the cleanest and safest tap water in the world.

To catch the attention of busy New Yorkers, DDB enlisted ePromos to supply custom paper cups to fill 10 special dispensers located around the city. These cups were positioned next to pipes that were discharging the dirtiest water in the city into the streets or subway tunnels.

Each cup contains a fact about drinking water (ex: “Unsafe drinking water kills more people than war”) along with the web address for Water is Life, an organization that makes $10 reusable straws that filter dirty water to make it safe to drink.

Matt Eastwood, Chief Creative Officer of DDB, explains: “It’s something that we are passionate about. I love doing work that can make the world a better place–it’s a nice change from selling burgers. I’m hoping that [people who discover the campaign] will go to waterislife.com and get involved in some way, or at the very least donate at their website.”

You can see the campaign in action in the video below.

The Silver Project: Custom Calendars for a Cause

In February 2009, ePromos employee Stacey Lewis lost her father to Leukemia after bone marrow transplant complications. In the wake of her loss, Stacey made a promise to honor her father’s life and legacy by giving back. To keep her promise she co-founded The Silver Project, a program designed to raise donations for the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation.

Since Stacey works with promotional products for a living, she knew that selling branded items to raise donations would be an effective fundraising strategy. She decided to use a calendar filled with inspirational photography taken by her friend Stephanie Markell, images that captured the essence of the project’s mission: Motivate. Inspire. Remind. Give back.

Two weeks after the idea was hatched, The Silver Project had already sold over 1,000 calendars and raised more than $25,000 for the Gift of Life. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar cleared 350 bone marrow donor kits off the waitlist, and one of the sponsored kits lead to a life-saving match for a patient in need.

This year, Stacey and her partners at The Silver Project hope to eclipse the outstanding results of their innaugural year and save even more lives. Custom calendars are currently on sale for $25 each, and make fantastic and charitable holiday gifts for your friends, family members, or clients. ALL of the net proceeds will benefit the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation, and the charitable portion of your purchase is 100% tax deductible.

Please help Stacey and The Silver Project meet their goals for an incredible cause! They are off to a great start, but still have some calendars left to sell.

You can make a purchase and a difference in people’s lives HERE.

World Water Week: March 20-26, 2011

custom water bottles

Most of us don’t have to worry about the quality of the tap water we get at restaurants. The wait staff fills our glasses, and we don’t give it a second thought – we drink it down without question.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people in the world that don’t have this peace of  mind. In fact, lack of clean water is the second largest killer of children under 5 worldwide.

This week, you’ll have the chance to make a difference for these people when you dine at restaurants participating in UNICEF’s Tap Project.

Restaurants participating in this project will offer customers the chance to donate $1 for the tap water they normally receive for free. All of the proceeds from this World Water Week promotion will go directly towards providing clean drinking water and sanitation where it is needed most.

Your business can participate in the Tap Project and help raise money for World Water Week with promotional drinkware like the AquaSkin foldable water bottle. These promotional waterbottles can be customized and sold to raise money, or they can be imprinted with information about these projects to help raise awareness.
