Promotional Products as Historical Documents

A recent article in the Denver Post discussed how postcards were not just promotional products, but were also potentially valuable historical documents:

“Today, he views postcards not just as promotional items, but in some cases as important historical documents.

One vintage shot showing two horsemen and a dog watering their animals in the park’s Mummy Lake, for instance, proves that it once held water – a fact doubted for decades by early archaeologists.”

It’s kind of like how my ancient Kozmo Map shows the way the subways ran before they finally got all the tracks over the Manhattan Bridge back in service, which many Brooklynites doubted would ever happen in our lifetimes.
